Dido – River, Run Me Dry

“Welcome to this world of mine”

Dido from England

England – Dido: “River, Run Me Dry”

“A thousand faces on a grey, grey day
A million houses under dull, dark sky

So much noise and, so little time
Oh river, run me dry

A natural world with these strange men’s votes
Go back home and lock your door

So much noise and so little time
Oh river, run me dry

Those big palm trees on an ocean breeze
Pico butter and deep blue seas
A thousand miles of clear blue sky
Taking time to let it pass me by

An empty space, to my open door
A turning fan on a wooden floor
Drift away, in the sweet sunshine

Welcome to this world of mine”
